Numeral
Major
Re-entries
These
are photos of what I consider to be THE Major Re-entries on
the values of the Numeral Issue. Half
Cent Numeral This the
Major Re-entry from Plate 1, Right Pane, Position #18. It
shows pronounced doubling in most of CANADA. One
Cent Numeral While the 1 of this re-entry may appear to be tilted,
its not really. It just appears that way because some
of the deeply engraved lines of the 1 may have
been angled. Two
Cent Numeral This
Misplaced Entry on the 2¢ has been referred to by some
as the hook on 2 re-entry. The hook
is actually part of the upper curve of the 2. Note that the bottom margin has been burnished perfectly
clean of any misplaced details, an attempt to partially
correct this obvious error. Three
Cent Numeral This
re-entry is not widely known and has still not been
catalogued, although it certainly should be. The entire
lower portion of the design is strongly doubled. Five
Cent Numeral This
re-entry is not of the typical type...Indeed, it
is a Misplaced Entry discovered by Hugh Laurence. * Return to Index Return to Listings Page
