Scott #55

Six Cents Brown

Re-entry

There are signs of a re-entry in ‘PO,’ the crown, and above the top frameline near the centre.

This is the nicest re-entry I have seen on this value.

Courtesy of Dave Noss.

Just added a lovely plate proof of this re-entry. Only 600 proofs were printed, at 50 stamps per sheet, so there are only 12 copies of this re-entry on  a proof in existence.

Scott #55

Six Cents Brown

Re-entry

There are many interesting signs of a re-entry in all of the letters of POSTAGE and the white portrait oval below it. There is also a strong mark in the lower right arm of the large central V.

Saskatoon Stamp Centre has kindly provided scans of two copies of this re-entry that they have handled (the two close-ups seen to the right below are the two different copies), with the upper one still being available.

One other re-entry on the 6¢ has been reported, but I do not yet have scans of it to show you here.
